Please note that aircraft radios differ significantly from conventional walkie-talkies in terms of both their transmission technology and audio accessories. Accessories from the land mobile radio sector are generally not compatible. In addition, audio accessories must be specially protected against interference radiation, as the AM modulation method used in aviation radio is highly susceptible to causing interference in audio systems.

Aviation Radio Wire Antenna (Transmit / Receive Antenna) This wire antenna from Uwe Evers GmbH is designed for remote installation. It is compatible with Icom® IC-A6, IC-A24, IC-A25, as well as Yaesu® aviation radios and similar devices.. The continuous development of aviation handheld radios and the associated higher transmission power, e.g., with the Icom® IC-A25 with up to 6 watts, increasingly leads to interference with navigation systems and RF feedback in older intercom amplifiers and headsets during transmission with the rubber antenna.The most effective and simplest way to eliminate interference is to increase the spatial distance between the transmitting antenna and the affected component. The wire antenna offered here is specially adapted to the aviation radio frequency range and can be installed without further fine-tuning.The wire antenna consists of a coaxial cable with an approximate length of 250 cm with a BNC connector and two wire antenna radiators. They have a linear frequency response in the 20 - 16000 Hz range. Both speech and music are transmitted in Hi-Fi quality. Modern transducers from hearing aid acoustics, with a diameter of only 2.5 mm, can be placed securely and painlessly in smaller ear canals for extended periods.The twisted, Kevlar-reinforced PUR supply cable has a dual-strand length of approximately 60 cm. The correct microphone impedance and polarity are automatically set.The StarCom1 Helicopter Headset can be connected to a civil helicopter intercom with standard NATO wiring and a U-174/U jack, and, via an adapter cable, to PMR446, BOS, Icom / Yaesu airband radios, etc.The buttons on the outside of the earcups are for PTT (Push-To-Talk) control when a radio is connected.
