Rugged Radios 2 RRP 362 intercom system
StarCom1 is expanding its range to include US intercom systems from Rugged Radios, specifically the 2 RRP 362 model. Unlike modern intercom boxes with plastic housings, these classic designs are characterized by their superior robustness, splash water protection, and high quality of workmanship compared to many European suppliers. All electronic components are housed in a robust and interference-resistant aluminum housing. The front and rear end plates are reliably protected against the ingress of moisture and dirt by all around seals.

The operating elements at the front and the cable entries at the rear are sealed on the inside. These basic technical features ensure long and reliable use and impress with their professional design. The requirements of budget controlling were not taken into account here; such consistent implementation is rare.
The Rugged Radios 2 RRP 362 intercoms are connected directly to the 12 volt on board power supply via a supplied 12 volt power cable with an in line fuse.
Specific adapter cables for various helmet types can be connected to the two rear connection sockets of the RRP 362 intercom. These enable the adaptation of headsets with connections for Peltor®, Stilo, IMSA, NASCAR, AutoTel, Racecom®, or MRTC. The microphone input sensitivity is optimized for use with dynamic microphones.

The basic version of the Rugged Radios 2 RRP 362 is equipped with a rear duplex/PTT audio interface, allowing for the connection of radios or telephones. The front buttons can be used as either push-to-talk (PTT) buttons or for answering calls.
Additionally, there is a 3.5 mm jack socket on the front panel that allows for the input of music or timer signals. The central on/off volume control can be securely adjusted thanks to a slight rotational resistance. The central indicator light signals the operating status, the power supply, and the status of the PTT control.

The robust intercom housing is securely bolted to the vehicle using two 90° mounting brackets that are fixed in lateral T-slots. Also, note the RRP362 Offroad / Buggy variant, which is a combination of an intercom and earmuffs, where the radio PTT buttons are integrated into the headset.
