StarCom1 FLX2 USB-C Adapter Cable to NATO/Peltor® Socket
StarCom1 FLX2 – USB-C Adapter Cable to NATO/Peltor® Socket The StarCom1 FLX2 USB-C adapter cable connects tactical and industrial headsets fitted with a 4-pole 7.1 mm jack plug (TP-120) directly to smartphones, tablets, laptops and other USB-C devices. Compatible headsets include models from 3M® / Peltor®, MSA® and MSA Sordin®, among others. Important when choosing the right version: 3M® / Peltor® headsets and many tactical consumer headsets are available with either dynamic or electret microphones. Please make sure to check your headset’s microphone type when selecting the adapter version. Tactical headsets from MSA®, MSA Sordin® and 3M® / Peltor® are usually supplied with a dynamic microphone and a NATO-wired jack plug. Civilian systems used in industry and aviation (e.g. pushback communication) usually feature a Peltor-wired plug. Budget tactical headsets from Asian manufacturers are sold with both dynamic and electret microphones – making it well worth double-checking before purchase. The StarCom1 FLX2 USB-C adapter cable is available in a matching configuration for all of these wiring standards and microphone types. Before ordering, please check your headset's specifications and select the appropriate adapter version. Guide to choosing the right model Identifying the microphone type: By design, dynamic microphones are considerably larger than electret microphones. If the microphone capsule is roughly the size of a 1- or 2-euro coin, it is usually a dynamic microphone. Electret microphones, on the other hand, are closer in size to a 10-cent coin. This simple, practical comparison is usually enough to reliably identify the type. Identifying the plug wiring: Military systems with a 4-pole TP-120 jack plug are usually NATO-wired. Civilian systems, however, use a wide range of manufacturer-specific wiring configurations for which there is no general rule of thumb. In this case, we recommend a quick consultation with our support team – simply use our contact form.
