StarCom1 provides industrially manufactured cable sets specifically designed for the F.U.N.K.E. Avionics GmbH ATR833 series aircraft radios. The versatile ATR833 supports both classic radio communication and an intercom function, making it suitable for motorised and glider pilots with or without intercom systems. This range of applications necessitates diverse audio technology, button, switch, and volume control configurations. These electrical functions are accessed via a rear mounted 25 pin D-sub connector, allowing for custom assignment. The D-sub connector also features a mechanical locking mechanism for secure connection.

The 25 contact options can be categorised as follows: From this extensive range of technical possibilities, approximately four to six common combinations address around 90% of all customer needs. This flexible contacting is consolidated within a StarCom1-specific connector housing featuring an integrated locking mechanism and is then routed into functionally distinct cable harnesses. The cable ends are fitted with industrially overmoulded 7-pin DIN jack sockets (female). The professional connector housing ensures a vibration-resistant connection. The StarCom1 adapter cable significantly simplifies installation by eliminating the need for intricate work on the delicate Sub-D-25 connector strip. The F.U.N.K.E. On the back of the radio, the radio connector is located, secured by a retaining clip to prevent accidental disconnection.

At the connectors, signals for headset speakers, ground, microphone (electric / dynamic), PTT button, and intercom (on / off) are available.The cable end for the on board speaker features a 6-pin female connector, from which a contact pair is reserved for external audio input signals.The 12-volt DC cable is equipped with a Mate N Lok connector.The ATR833 specific SUB-D special connector has a conical plastic pin on its side flanges. When plugged in, the two lateral securing clamps of the ATR833 are placed around this pin to prevent unintentional loosening of the connector connection.This adapter is an example of a custom order.
