The push to talk (PTT) button on either side is designed for both right handed and left handed users.
This headset incorporates special electrical shielding, making it resistant to strong AM aircraft radios operating in close proximity.
It supports common connector standards for Icom® and Yaesu® devices. Custom cables, lengths, and capsules with varying colors are available upon request.

Airband Radio / Flight Support / Helicopter Radio Headsets The StarCom1 X3 Helicopter Headset is primarily aimed at flight support personnel looking for a universally adaptable communication headset. The StarCom1 Helicopter Headset supports both high and low impedances. The correct microphone impedance and polarity are automatically set.The StarCom1 Helicopter Headset can be connected to a civil helicopter intercom with standard NATO wiring and a U-174/U jack, and, via an adapter cable, to PMR446, BOS, Icom / Yaesu airband radios, etc.The buttons on the outside of the earcups are for PTT (Push-To-Talk) control when a radio is connected. These buttons are non-functional with the helicopter intercom.The basic version includes a U-174/U compatible connection cable with NATO wiring, preparing the headset for connection to the helicopter intercom.For radio adaptation, a radio-specific adapter cable is required. There are many different standards here.The headset can be custom-made, for example, with the microphone on the left or right.The radio-specific adaptation is achieved solely via an optional connection cable.
