Driver Crew Intercom with Smartphones
The StarCom1 Driver Crew Intercom enhances audio communication for smartphone users.
This complete system comprises three primary modules, detailed below:
Helmet Installation
The driver helmet installation kit adheres to the classic Peltor® standard, utilizing dynamic microphone technology prevalent in nearly 90% of intercom systems. This ensures universal headset compatibility.

Depending on the ordered helmet type, the full face version includes an adhesive microphone, while the open-face version comes with a dynamic boom microphone.
Modern sound insulating earphones are also part of the kit. These active components connect electrically via a spiralised helmet cable, forming a complete Peltor® / Stilo compatible racing helmet setup that can be used independently.
Vehicle Wiring Harness
The vehicle wiring harness establishes the connection between a smartphone, mounted securely within the vehicle at a safe distance from the driver, and the helmet installation along with its control buttons.

The cable lengths are specifically designed for routing from the connection point near the B-pillar's seat belt anchorage, down to the seat console, along the cardan tunnel, and finally up to the steering column.
The cable segment near the steering column features two coupling plugs for connecting the control buttons.
In its standard configuration, the harness includes a push-button with a spiral cable and a latching switch with a straight cable. The push-button controls call acceptance and hang up functions.
The switch toggles the microphone of the connected driver headset on or off.
Optionally, the latching switch (microphone on/off) can be supplemented with an additional parallel connected button.
In this setup, pressing and holding this extra button temporarily activates the otherwise deactivated microphone. The fundamental principle is that once a telephone connection is active, pressing the microphone button enables the microphone.
Crew Headset
The crew headset's functionality and electrical circuitry are designed to integrate with the two vehicle assemblies. It features a dynamic noise cancelling gooseneck microphone, loudspeakers built into the ear capsules, a call acceptance button, and a latching microphone on/off switch.
The spiralised headset cable allows the headset to be detached at shoulder height via a Peltor® compatible plug connection, providing flexibility for use in other applications.

All components are engineered to professional standards. Cost optimization has been avoided, with meticulous attention to detail in the design and manufacturing of all assemblies to meet the rigorous demands of racing drivers.
