Repair, General Overhaul, and Chemical Cleaning for Sennheiser® MD 421 Series Microphones
StarCom1 offers a comprehensive service for older Sennheiser® MD 421 microphones. Thanks to their exceptionally robust and modular design, only a few components are typically subject to age-related wear. These include the internal wiring and the rear coupling socket for the microphone cable.
Due to their age or unknown origin, hygiene is often a concern. The front metal cage with its fine-mesh grille is an ideal place for coarse and fine dirt, as well as fungal cultures, to accumulate.
As part of a general overhaul, StarCom1 disassembles the Sennheiser® MD 421 microphone into its individual components. All non-electrical parts are subjected to a chemical cleaning. The internal wiring is replaced with a new one. The rear connector segment is cleaned of all external deposits using an ultrasonic process. The rear axial switch is checked for smooth operation and good contact, and is repaired if necessary.
Important Note:
We do not offer individual spare parts for sale, as they are practically no longer available. For incomplete or mechanically defective microphones, a repair is only economically viable in the rarest of cases.
