Audio Retrofit for Pfanner® Protos® Ear Protection Cups

We offer the retrofit of an audio/microphone unit into a Pfanner® Protos® ear protection cup.

Following this modification, performed by Uwe Evers GmbH in Aurich, the retrofitted audio units are compatible with inline PTT buttons from various manufacturers.

Customers can choose between Axcom®, SAVOX®, Peltor®, or general NATO pinout configurations.

Important Notice:

  • For this modification, the ear protection cup must be provided by the customer (client).
  • Due to the installation of audio electronics, the customer-provided ear protection cup forfeits its EN 352 specification and is no longer certified as personal protective equipment (PPE) for hearing protection. Warranty claims against the original cup manufacturer will also become void.

Scope of Service:

  • Installation of a rugged electret noise-canceling boom microphone with a foam windshield
  • Installation of a speaker unit Installation of an earcup-mounted coiled connection cable (approx. 25 cm long) with a heavy-duty 4-pin military jack plug (Nexus® TP-120 compatible) wired to Axcom®, SAVOX®, Peltor®, or general NATO standards

Return Shipping:

The return shipment includes:

  • The ear protection cup provided by the customer, retrofitted with the integrated audio unit and ~25 cm coiled connection cable
  • Instruction manual and CE Declaration of Conformity issued by Uwe Evers GmbH

Modification typically takes 4–5 business days following order clearance by our accounting department.

After placing your online order, we will contact you with the shipping address where you can send your ear protection cup.

If you already own two-way radios and PTT buttons but are unsure which connection standard to order, please send the radio and PTT button along with the cup. Please ensure that all batteries are fully charged prior to shipment.
